The very well known brand and company TATA Motors had made an addition to the series of pick up trucks in the last few years. They launched the Tata Xenon a few years ago. There are two variants of this vehicle; Tata Xenon XT EX 2×4 and Tata Xenon XT EX 4×4, which have been discontinued over the years. Here are some of the main features of this pick up truck.

Performance: The vehicle runs on a Tata 2.2 litre Dicor engine providing BS IV norms. The displacement reaches up to 2179 cc. The maximum power of 136.1 bhp is achieved, and along with this a maximum torque of 320 Nm is attained. A single dry friction plate of 240 mm diameter has been fixed. In addition to this, a 5- speed gearbox has been situated. The fuel tank can hold up to 65 litres and the gradeability achieved is 41%. The maximum speed that this pick up truck can reach is 80 km/hr.

Design: The body of this vehicle is fixed with a day cabin chassis, where all the goods are carried. The front and rear tyre is of 215/75 R 16 Radial. The overall length, width and height is 5125 mm, 1860 mm, 1765 mm respectively with a wheelbase of 3150 mm and the ground clearance is 200 mm. The gross vehicle weight is 2800 kgs and the kerb weight of the vehicle is 1900 kgs. The maximum payload the Tata Xenon can withhold is 900 kgs.

Safety and Comfort: The seating capacity of this pickup truck is 4, including the driver. The seating type is a standard design. Disc brakes are installed at the front of the vehicle and drum brakes are situated at the back. The front suspension is a double wishbone type and the rear suspension is of parabolic leaf springs. Coming to the safety cautions that have been taken, parking brakes, power steering, fog lights, tubeless tyres, and seat belts have been fixed.

Unfortunately, the manufacturing of this pick up truck was discontinued by Tata Trucks. The other two variants that were manufactured have the same specifications. The only difference there is, is the amount of space in the vehicle and the number of doors. As far as this series was on the run, it created a good impact in the economy and there was consistent productivity just like the other mini commercial trucks and pick up trucks in the sector.

This vehicle was priced at Rs. 9,95,000 according to the showroom price.
